When the Moon was White – The author reads from his novel

The Author, Jeff Probst, will read from his novel and answer people’s questions about it

When the Moon was White is set in the Sixties – the decade of the US–Soviet Space Race – in a fictional American town known for its bright moon. NASA designates the town as the world’s first Moontown so its moon can be celebrated, but two rogue NASA employees concoct a shocking plot: They plan to use Surveyor 4 (the NASA moon rocket scheduled to launch in July 1967) to cover Mare Imbrium in paint before man lands on the Moon. The book also touches on the Moon’s geology and the issues involved with the extraction of helium-3; but the Moon’s beauty – and the songs and poetry associated with it – is what inspired me to write my novel.
