International Moon Day at the Strasenburgh Planetarium
July 20 @ 11:00 – 15:00
Celebrate International Moon Day with us at the RMSC Strasenburgh Planetarium!
We’ll be exploring all things lunar with hands-on activities to celebrate the anniversary of the 1969 first human landing on the moon.
Activities Include:
Moon Phase Sliders
Explore the different phases of the moon while building your own interactive slider.
Base Camp
Learn what it would take to live on the moon! Build your own Moon base camp to learn what living and working on the Moon would look like for a NASA astronaut.
Hide and Seek Moon
Learn how NASA scientists observe the moon by playing a hidden object moon game and hearing from the storybook Moon Rope which explores human-made meanings interpreted from shapes on the Moon.
Exploring the Solar System
Learn about how craters are formed, and what they can teach us about the history and composition of the Moon. This activity will aid you in simulating the formation of meteorite craters to then study with special tools!
