“From the International Space Station to the Lunar Space Station: Italy’s Key Role and Opportunities for Latin America”
October 10 @ 10:00 – 13:00

Participation in the WSW is part of IILA’s initiatives in the field of science and space diplomacy, including the noteworthy “Meeting of Space Agencies of IILA Member Countries,” now in its fourth year, and the project to build the first satellite mission by two IILA countries, Panama and the Dominican Republic. It offers an opportunity to explore humanity’s journey to live sustainably and long-lastingly, first in orbit and then on the lunar surface, aiming one day to reach Mars. This journey, through the use of innovative technologies that seek to make space a safe habitat, with careful attention to astronauts’ needs and comfort, allows them to face and overcome increasingly challenging challenges, bringing to reality scenarios that were only a dream until recently. Space technologies have also opened up possibilities for a more sustainable future on our planet, with positive implications for Latin American countries as well.
