Europe and the Future of Lunar Exploration

October 30 – October 31

Global event (1 country Greece) taking place on 30-31 October – offline. Organiser:  Christophe Bosquillon, Greece Date: 30-31 October 2026 – offline Description: Missions toward the Moon in the coming 5 to 10 years are accelerating. Logistics and transportation solutions will play a key role, together with a number of supporting technologies. Both the U.S.-led Artemis Program and the China/Russia-led International Lunar Research Station evolving roadmaps signal crewed landing ambitions before or around 2030. The European Space Agency will hold an intermediary Ministerial Meeting in mid-December 2026. This meeting will decide budgets for a European crewed space exploration program and is expected to bring additional precisions for European lunar ambitions in the 2030’s.  In recognition of the International Moon Day, Christophe Bosquillon, MVA National Coordinator for Greece, and Charalampos (Charis) Kosmas, winner of several MVA awards for cislunar transportation and logistical solutions (such as MACEDONAS), are holding discussions on 30-31 October 2026 on the future of Greece and Europe in the larger lunar exploration picture, in preparation of future events on above mentioned topics.
