3rd PromoMoon Initiative Closing Ceremony

3rd PromoMoon Initiative for Moon Village Generation in honor of Dr. Alexander Degtyarev

The leading Ukrainian space engineering company Yuzhnoye State Design Office and the Moon Village Association invite to the final awarding ceremony of the winners of the 3rd PromoMoon Initiative for Moon Village Generation in honor of Dr. Alexander Degtyarev.

For several months, an international team of leading space experts selected the best technical concepts. Winners will receive support for their research through free mentoring from B2B experts and question and answer sessions. The best submissions will also provided with an opportunity to present their idea during the IAC-2024 Moon-related technical sessions

On September 25 the awarding ceremony for the winners of the 3rd PromoMoon will take place.

Program

  • 8:00 – 8:10 CEST: Opening
    Opening remarks by the moderator and address by the MVA President, Giuseppe Reibaldi and by the Head of Yuzhnoye Expert Team, Maksym Degtiarov and IMD Chair, Nasr Alsahhaf
  • 8:10 – 8:45 CEST: Key Note Speeches
    • Remarks about IMD by the Moderator and introduction to keynote speakers
    • Keynote speech: Luis Carrio, Lockheed Martin – Water-based lunar architecture
    • Keynote speech: Giancarlo Genta – “Enabling technologies for Moon colonization”
  • 8:45 – 9:00 CEST: Adress to the teams by the Mentors
  • 9:00 – 9:05 CEST: Short break
  • 9:05 -10:50 CEST 
    Presentation of projects by the winning teams and comments by Mentors
  • 9:05 – 9:40 – Space Copy: Regolith Extraction and Processing Technology For Lunar-Enabled Manufacturing (Canada)
    • 9:40 – 10:15 – Iron and steel institute of Z.I. Nekrasov of National academy of science of Ukraine: Development of the concept of in-situ thermal dissociation of regolith oxide compounds under the influence of an electromagnetic field to produce oxygen gas in relation to lunar conditions (Ukraine)
    • 10:15-10:50 – Dnipro State Agrarian and Economic University: Development of materials for machines that will extract water on the Moon (Ukraine)
  • 10:50-10:55 CEST: Short break
  • 10:55 – 11:05 CEST: Award/ Certificate ceremony for each team
  • 11:05-11:20: Closing & Announcements
