The 1st episode, Artemis 2: Science & Industry, took place on June 2, 2026 and featured Prof. Joseph “Sci” Borg and and Satoru Kurosu.
Artemis II marked humanity’s first crewed journey beyond low Earth orbit since Apollo 17 — and it carried a new generation of science with direct relevance to industry, medicine, and the future of human exploration. In this opening session, Prof. Joseph “Sci” Borg (University of Malta) and Satoru Kurosu join us to unpack what Artemis II means beyond the mission itself.
Joseph brings a space biology perspective, exploring the biological and medical questions Artemis II begins to answer and how that knowledge translates into applications in drug development, radiation medicine, and personalized healthcare. Satoru offers an industry lens, examining the commercial opportunities emerging from the Artemis ecosystem and the practical barriers companies face today. Together, they will discuss the partnerships and capabilities needed to turn Artemis science into real-world products and services, and share advice for the next generation looking to work at this frontier.
