SUMMARY:Moon Through My Lens
DESCRIPTION:A single photograph has the power to capture a moment\, evoke emotions\, and tell a story that words alone cannot. On the occasion of International Moon Day (20 July 2026)\, Infinity Space Club (UPES Dehradun\, India)\, in collaboration with the Moon Village Association (MVA)\, invites photography enthusiasts\, storytellers\, and space lovers to participate in “Moon Through My Lens” – an online photography and storytelling competition that celebrates creativity through the beauty of our closest celestial neighbour. \nParticipants are invited to capture one original photograph of the Moon using any device of their choice\, whether a smartphone or a professional camera. Along with the photograph\, they must submit a short story inspired by the image. The story may be fiction or non-fiction\, reflecting the participant’s own thoughts\, memories\, emotions\, experiences\, or imagination inspired by the Moon. \nThe competition aims to encourage participants to look beyond the Moon as an astronomical object and explore the stories\, emotions\, and perspectives it inspires. By combining photography with creative writing\, this initiative seeks to foster a meaningful connection between science\, art\, and human expression while celebrating the universal fascination with Earth’s only natural satellite.

SUMMARY:Luna e Psiche: Ritmi\, Visioni\, Futuri
\n\n\n\nE inoltre…\n– installazione della luna su Corso Umberto\n– allestimento vetrine a tema lunare\n– Info Point di Astronomy Pantelleria con Leonardo Puleo che metterà a disposizione un telescopio per “catturare” in diretta le immagini del cielo e proiettarle su schermo in diretta \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe second edition of the Moon Festival\, organized by the Corso Umberto Cultural Association\, will take place on Monday\, 20 July\, along Corso Umberto in the center of Pantelleria. \n\n\n\nThe festival is a collective celebration that brings together artistic performances\, photographic exhibitions\, and shared experiences to explore the profound relationship between the Moon and the human psyche. \n\n\n\nThe 2026 edition\, built around the official theme “One Moon\, One Vision\, One Future\,” is interpreted through a Mediterranean perspective\, presenting the Moon as a shared symbol of the cyclical nature of time and of transformation across cultures and generations. \n\n\n\nThe Moon Festival is deeply rooted in Pantelleria’s natural landscape and cultural heritage\, an island shaped by volcanic forces\, where the sea\, the wind\, and the sky have always played a central role. It is an invitation to look up together and recognize the Moon as a universal language shared by all humanity. \n\n\n\nThe event includes: \n\n\n\n\nArtistic performances inspired by the lunar cycles and their resonance within the body and the mind.\n\n\n\nThe photographic exhibition “Lunar Rocks” by Nicola Ferrari\, exploring Pantelleria’s Moon-like landscape.\n\n\n\nA theatrical adaptation of “Ciaula Discovers the Moon” by Luigi Pirandello\, performed by Antonietta Valenza and Lucia Boldi.\n\n\n\nA conversation with author Fabio Macaluso about his book “I Wanted Lemon Tea: My Life with Bipolar Disorder\,” in dialogue with psychiatrist and writer Ferruccio Osimo. The term bipolar embodies the idea of two poles\, two extremes\, two sides of the same reality\, much like the full Moon and the new Moon\, light and darkness\, and the continuous oscillation\, or cyclical rhythm\, that cannot be stopped but must instead be understood and navigated in order to live with it.\n\n\n\nAn open-air dance theatre performance\, “Lunario\,” featuring Giulia Pesole\, Viola Centi\, and Gabriele Manfredi\, with audience participation. Through traditional folk music\, the performance explores the social memory of Mediterranean peoples and their agricultural traditions connected to the phases of the Moon. The “festival” is portrayed as a time for gathering\, courtship\, and relief from the exhausting demands of agricultural work.\n\n\n\n\nIn addition\, visitors can enjoy: \n\n\n\n\nA large Moon installation along Corso Umberto.\n\n\n\nShop window displays decorated with lunar-themed installations.\n\n\n\nAn Astronomy Pantelleria information point\, where Leonardo Puleo will provide a telescope to capture live images of the night sky and project them onto a screen in real time.
