Along with the photograph\, they must submit a short story inspired by the image. DESCRIPTION:HydrogenCuisine\nDo you know what significance July 20 holds? \n\n\n\n“International Moon Day” was established in 2021 to commemorate humanity’s first moon landing by Apollo 11 on July 20\, 1969\, and to raise global awareness regarding the peaceful use of outer space and the importance of sustainable lunar exploration. \n\n\n\nMoon Association \n\n\n\n\nWelcome to the International Moon Day \n\n\n\n\nFurthermore\, July 20 also marks the day in 1976 when the Mars probe Viking 1 landed on Mars\, following the Soviet Union’s Mars 1 mission. \n\n\n\nThis year marks the 50th anniversary of the lander touching down on the Chryse Planitia (Plains of Gold) on Mars at 20:53 on July 20\, 1976 (11:53 UTC). It transmitted the first color images from the Martian surface. \n\n\n\nRegarding the launch vehicles for these landers: Apollo 11 used the Saturn V\, while Viking 1 used the Titan IIIE. Notably\, the Titan IIIE featured the Centaur stage—the first rocket stage to utilize liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen as propellants. \n\n\n\nThe development of hydrogen liquefaction technology—capable of achieving cryogenic temperatures of 20K (-253°C)—was primarily conducted at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. This technology remains significant today\, drawing attention for its role in hydrogen storage within the context of renewable energy systems. \n\n\n\nWith this in mind\, we would like to host a dinner event featuring hydrogen-cooked cuisine\, where we can reflect on space exploration and the future of a circular energy society on Earth. Due to venue constraints\, participation is limited to a small group of six people on a first-come\, first-served basis. \n\n\n\nWe received feedback from several participants of “Yuri’s Night” (held on April 12\, 2026) expressing a desire for regular\, casual gatherings centered around space-related themes. In the past\, I frequently organized space-related events at venues like Tokyo Culture Culture\, which led to the formation of research groups and startups. Although I hadn’t taken the lead on such events recently\, I hosted a gathering on the evening of May 29 (Friday)—the final day of SPEXA—at the Kyoto Shabu-Shabu CHIRIRI Shinagawa branch.\nWe enjoyed a delicious meal and drinks while engaging in deep\, off-the-record conversations about space. \n\n\n\nFor the upcoming event\, we plan to meet at “icHi\,” a restaurant in Hamamatsucho known for its hydrogen-grilled cuisine. https://ichi-tokyo.jp/ \n\n\n\nAddress: 1-23-6 Hamamatsucho\, Minato-ku\, Tokyo 105-0000 Map: https://maps.app.goo.gl/feAHkDS9d7aaT2wi6 Seating: 6 counter seats (plus two tables for four) \n\n\n\nWe are planning a 13\,000-yen course (drinks separate) with a maximum of 6 counter seats\, allowing us to watch the hydrogen-grilling process. \n\n\n\nTo help with restaurant arrangements\, I would appreciate it if you could indicate your intention to attend by clicking the “Join” button as soon as possible—even if it is just a tentative decision. \n\n\n\nDue to reservation requirements\, I will close the initial headcount at 5:00 PM on Sunday\, July 12. (Changes can still be made after that time.) \n\n\n\nIt is deeply moving to reflect on how the space events I organized in the past—such as Yuri’s Night and Japan’s first World Space Week event at Tokyo Culture Culture—have served as catalysts\, meeting grounds for startups\, and driving forces for projects that are now in the spotlight. These events paved the way for initiatives like the private lunar exploration project HAKUTO (with its inclusive public participation and sponsorship strategies) and fostered international networks and policy proposals among young space professionals at forums like the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space. Amidst the increasingly tense situation in the Middle East—which is forcing a re-evaluation of petroleum-based energy and highlighting the need for autonomous alternative energy sources—I spent the past year in Yamanashi Prefecture (a hub for hydrogen initiatives) working on a project to develop a hydrogen liquefaction magnetic refrigeration system. That project\, based at the Yonekura-yama Next-Generation Energy R&D Village (Nesrad)—located near the planned site for the Maglev Shinkansen station at the Kofu-Minami Interchange—involved optimizing the distribution of locally produced renewable energy (including storage\, transport\, and utilization). Now that I have returned to Yokohama\, I hope to build connections that can serve as a catalyst for the next steps in resolving these challenges.

Si tratta di una celebrazione collettiva che intreccia performance artistiche\, mostre fotografiche e momenti collettivi per esplorare la relazione profonda tra la Luna e la psiche umana.\nL’edizione 2026\, costruita attorno al tema ufficiale “One Moon\, One Vision\, One Future”\, è interpretata attraverso una prospettiva mediterranea: la Luna come simbolo comune della ciclicità del tempo\, di trasformazione attraverso culture e generazioni diverse.\nLa Festa della Luna trova le radici nel paesaggio naturale di Pantelleria e nella sua cultura— un’isola vulcanica dove il mare\, il vento e il cielo sono sempre stati protagonisti. Il termine “bipolare” contiene il concetto dei due poli\, due estremi\, due facce della stessa cosa. Come la luna piena e la luna nuova\, come la luce e il buio come l’oscillare continuo (ciclicità) che non si può fermare ma che bisogna saper navigare per sopravvivere.\n– Spettacolo di Teatro Danza con coinvolgimento del pubblico a cielo aperto. “Lunario” con Giulia Pesole\, Viola Centi e Gabriele Manfredi. Le sonorità popolari interpretano la “memoria sociale” dei popoli mediterranei con le tradizioni legate alla cultura contadina in rapporto alle fasi lunari. The event will feature guest speakers specializing in sustainable lunar infrastructure and lunar systems engineering\, offering insights into the future of lunar exploration. Participants will also experience a live demonstration of receiving and decoding real-time weather satellite images using a ground antenna\, software-defined radio (SDR)\, and open-source software. By connecting the legacy of Apollo 11 with modern space engineering\, the event aims to inspire students and the public to engage in STEM and contribute to the future of space exploration.

SUMMARY:2026 Symposium on Humanity’s Lunar Future – in Celebration of International Moon Day
DESCRIPTION:Huntsville\, Alabama played a key role in NASA’s successful exploration of the Moon\, including the first human landing on the Moon in July 1969. This year\, some 57 years following that first landing\, astronauts returned: circling the Moon during an April 1-11 mission under the auspices of the Artemis program. Exciting plans and programs are now underway to continue the exploration and development of the Moon – including a permanent Moon Base in the lunar south polar region.  \nIn 2021\, the Moon Village Association (MVA) proposed to the United Nations (UN) the creation of a global annual commemoration of the Apollo 11 landing\, “International Moon Day” (IMD). In response\, a year later in 2022\, Drake State Community and Technical College in Huntsville organized and hosted the first highly-successful “Main Event” of the then newly-created IMD celebration.  \nThis year\, a Symposium on the topic of Humanity’s Lunar Future is being organized in Huntsville on 14 August 2026 as an International Moon Day “Global Event”\, supporting the overall theme of this year’s IMD: “To the Moon Together”. This IMD Global Event will engage thought-leaders\, engineers\, scientists and managers who are developing and accomplishing the vision of permanent lunar presence and activity. The symposium will provide an overview of the lunar opportunities\, plans and programs\, and will comprise participants from across academia\, industry\, government and non-government organizations.

DESCRIPTION:The MoonDay Mozambique is an event to bring together art and sciences. The event has two phases:  \n1. Building your own Moon Model: create a moon bulb and/or a moon Frame with basic art materials to enhance creativity and improve the capacity to combine art with electronic basics.\n2. Moon and night sky observation:  after creating their very own moon 3D models\, participants will observe the night sky with the astronomic binoculars and telescopes provided by LoonMars Space Lab with the support of the team. \nThis initiative is brought to life through a collaborative partnership between LoonMars Space Lab\, Dondzalândia\, and Colégio Nyamunda\, who have joined forces to inspire the next generation through science\, technology\, and art. LoonMars Space Lab is an innovation and science outreach and space tech startup focused on bringing astronomy\, space sciences\, and technology closer to local communities by promoting hands-on learning and a passion for the universe. Working alongside them\, Dondzalândia contributes as an educational (STEM) institution dedicated to youth and child development by fostering critical thinking\, creativity\, and edutainment through dynamic activities.
