SUMMARY:Internationnal MoonDay Connection from ExoSpaceHab Express Moon Base
DESCRIPTION:We performed a moonbase simulation in July and August and on 21th of July our crew commander Pauline ROBLIN will adress collaborators from moon village worldwide\, including with Nanjing Aerospace University and ILEWG. \nThe ExoSpaceHab Express project recreates a small lunar base\, within which it is possible to conduct simulations of space missions with a crew of maximum 4 people. The lunar base houses all the typical areas of the future bases that we could see on the Moon (and in perspective on Mars!): a living area (which includes a small living space\, the personal crew districts and toilets)\, a laboratory area (where to carry out scientific experiments and use the instruments)\, large storage areas for resources\, an area dedicated to sports (since astronauts are required to practice sports for about two hours a day to maintain health in a small area. 

At a structural level\, the lunar base consists of an area recreated inside a Weinsberg caravan\, which has been totally transformed\, and an inflatable area\, which “embraces” the caravan externally and which doubles its useful volume internally.

Tento den je zároveň oslavou neutuchající fascinace lidstva Měsícem – naším nejbližším nebeským sousedem a symbolem objevů. Měsíc vždy vzbuzoval zvědavost a ambice\, od starověkých mýtů až po přistání v programu Apollo a budoucí lunární mise. This day marks the anniversary of the first human landing on the Moon\, which was carried out in 1969 by the crew of the American space mission Apollo 11. This day is also a celebration of humanity’s unceasing fascination with the Moon – our closest celestial neighbor and a symbol of discovery. The Moon has always aroused curiosity and ambition\, from ancient myths to the Apollo landings and future lunar missions. But now they have the chance to witness a repetition of this historical event\, because the return of man to our natural satellite will take place later this decade. What is the “flight schedule” of manned flights to the Moon\, what will the technology for their implementation look like\, who is involved in the preparation of the “new small step”? Many questions\, many – often surprising – answers. \nMgr. It wil consist of a demonstration of a vinly moon floor map being used to place #D printed objects such as astronauts figures\, moon objects\, and 3D printed lunar landing sites.. Drones and robots will be used also. The showing of anew book published on 3D printing these lunar objects will be showcased. For example lunar landing sites were 3D printed from the NASA Moon Trek program. All this\, is a method to teach lunar research to teachers and students of all ages. Lunar regolith lacks organic matter and nitrogen\, while Martian soil contains toxic perchlorates. Key strategies include enriching soils with fertilizers\, removing toxins (e.g.\, washing perchlorates)\, and introducing microbes to enhance nutrient cycling. Hydroponics and genetic engineering may supplement traditional methods. Experiments with simulants show promise\, but challenges like low gravity\, radiation\, and soil structure remain. Overcoming these barriers could enable future colonies to grow crops\, reducing reliance on Earth. Research continues to optimize plant growth in extraterrestrial environments. To this end\, Sichuan University will organize in-person talks on this topic.

DESCRIPTION:The School of Engineering\, Design and Built Environment and the School of Law are jointly hosting a lecture and networking event including the screening of a short film Moonrise 2021 in celebration of Moon Day (man landing on the Moon\, July 1969). \n“Star Laws: A New Hope for Space Governance” will be presented by our guest speaker Prof Steven Freeland.\nSteven Freeland (PhD\, LLM\, LLB\, BCom) is Emeritus Professor of International Law at Western Sydney University\, where he was previously the Dean of the School of Law\, and Professorial Fellow at Bond University. He also holds Visiting or Adjunct positions at various other Universities/Institutes in Copenhagen\, Vienna\, Toulouse\, Hong Kong\, Montreal\, Kuala Lumpur\, Vancouver\, Mumbai and London. Prior to becoming an academic\, he had a 20-year career as an international commercial lawyer and an investment banker. He was a Member of the Australian Space Agency Advisory Board (2020-2024) and has been an advisor to the Australian\, New Zealand\, Norwegian\, Malaysian and several other Governments on issues relating to national space legislative frameworks and policy. He represents the Australian Government at Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (UNCOPUOS) meetings and\, has been appointed by UNCOPUOS as Chair of a 5-year ‘Working Group on Legal Aspects of Space Resource Activities’. He has also been a Visiting Professional within the Appeals Chamber at the International Criminal Court\, and a Special Advisor to the Danish Foreign Ministry in matters related to the International Criminal Court. Among other appointments\, he is a co-Principal of specialised space law firm Azimuth Advisory\, a Member of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Future Council on the Future of Space\, a Member of the Abu Dhabi Space Debate Strategy Council\, an Honorary Director of the International Institute of Space Law (IISL)\, a Member of the Advisory Board of the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC)\, a Member of the Advisory Board of the Karman Foundation and a Member of the Space Law Committee of the International Law Association. In 2022\, he was presented with a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ by the International Institute of Space Law\, the highest accolade awarded by that institution. We believe that sharing this vision with new generations will inspire them to turn lunar challenges into opportunities\, ensuring a better future for Earth and beyond. \nHighlights:• Hands-On Observations: Participants will set up tents by the Alpsari Lake (Cankiri\, Turkiye) and spend nights under the stars\, observing the Moon and deep sky objects with telescopes.• Astrophotography Workshop with Mustafa Aydin: One of the camp’s unique highlights will be an astrophotography workshop led by Mustafa Aydın\, an award-winning astrophotographer whose work “Stardust” has officially reached the lunar surface as part of the MoonMars Museum project and now rests in the Mare Crisium region of the Moon carrying humanity’s artistic legacy beyond Earth. Mustafa Aydın will share his experience photographing the night sky in light-pollution-free regions for over a decade\, and participants will learn how to capture the Moon even with a simple smartphone under his guidance.• Community Building: Social activities\, nature walks\, games\, and fireside talks with guest trainers will create a sense of unity and shared responsibility for sustainability.• Photo Exhibition Series: As in previous years\, Moon\, space\, and nature photos taken during the camp will be curated into exhibitions (as a difference\, physical only this year) in different cities\, extending the IMD spirit throughout the year.• Target Audience: Open to youth\, students\, young professionals\, families\, artists\, astronomy and law enthusiasts\, and anyone passionate about space\, nature and camping.• Participation Goal: The camp will host approximately 50 participants to ensure an inclusive and impactful experience.Partners & Support:Altair will organize the camp in collaboration with Stellar Experiences\, with the encouragement of Moon Village Association and UNOOSA\, and with the participation of the Ankara Bar Association Photography Club. DESCRIPTION:The Fourth International Workshop on Lunar and Deep Space Exploration was held successfully on September 3\, 2025\, in Hefei\, China\, co-organized with the Deep Space Exploration Laboratory (DSEL) \, the International Deep Space Exploration Association (IDSEA) and the Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO). The workshop served as a strategic precursor to the Third Tiandu Forum\, reinforcing its role as an essential component of the week’s premier deep space exploration gathering.\nThe event attracted 88 participants from 30 countries\, including esteemed academicians\, leaders of space agencies and research institutions\, and prominent experts and scholars.\nThe workshop featured 19 presentations and four keynote addresses\, focusing on pioneering topics such as the International Lunar Research Station (ILRS)\, the Cislunar CubeSat Constellation (C3)\, and collaborative asteroid exploration programs. These sessions provided a platform for sharing cutting-edge research and exploring future joint missions.\nA highlight of the workshop was the roundtable discussion\, which facilitated in-depth dialogue among representatives from various countries and institutions. It was officially confirmed that the workshop will become an institutionalized annual event\, held in conjunction with the Tiandu Forum to ensure continued synergy and sustained international partnership.

SUMMARY:100 Years from the Moon Landing to a Cislunar City
DESCRIPTION:International Moon Day is an opportunity to recognize the central role the Moon has played and continues to play in the history of space exploration. A symbol of cosmic proximity and technological challenge\, the Moon has represented a point of reference for humanity for millennia. Today\, between the memory of historic landings and ambitious future plans\, this anniversary renews the scientific community’s commitment to a new era of lunar exploration. As in 1969\, every extraordinary journey begins with a simple step. \nTen years ago in July\, the Center for Near Space of the Italian Institute for the Future was founded with the aim of spreading Space Culture\, supporting the development of Civil Astronautics\, and fostering the growth of the Private User Community. The launch of conceptual studies of orbital architecture with its OrbiTecture team soon evolved into the pioneering studies of the Cislunar City\, in the belief that the scientific enterprise of space exploration is rapidly evolving toward a permanent human presence in space. \nOn this basis and with these elements\, the session “100 YEARS FROM THE MOON LANDING TO A CISLUNAR CITY” aims\, on the one hand\, to celebrate man’s first step on the moon as humanity’s first step off Earth\, and on the other\, to project forward a century later\, when the stable existence of a community of approximately 1\,000 people in a dozen “neighborhoods” located between low Earth orbit and the Moon\, both orbit and surface\, will be possible and probable.The prospect of the emergence of the Cislunar City and its long-term configuration as a coordinated community\, not subordinated to terrestrial power centers\, requires a radical rethinking of the legal paradigm applicable to it. The purely geocentric perspective that informs the spirit of current regulations is proving increasingly inadequate to meet the needs of an autonomous\, stable\, and structured community in space. It is therefore appropriate\, if not necessary\, to establish a normative paradigm that goes beyond the limits of traditional international law to develop a space law for space\, conceived in light of the environmental\, social\, and operational specificities of the cislunar context.
